50 Berkeley Square is a reportedly haunted townhouse on Berkeley Square in Mayfair, Central London. In the late 19th century it became known as one of the most haunted houses in London, with its attic room said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman who had committed suicide there.

The Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret at 9a St Thomas Street is a museum of surgical history and one of the oldest surviving operating theatres. It is located in the garret of St Thomas's Church, Southwark, in London, on the original site of St Thomas' Hospital.

Can the aging process be reversed - or even halted, altogether? If we manage to decode this final mystery of our human biology, we might soon be able to eradicate age-related illnesses like cancer, dementia and heart problems.

The race to invent the miracle pill is well underway. Today, international researchers are getting astonishingly close to realizing humanity’s dream of immortality.

The hunt for immortality gained traction with the discovery of Costa Rica’s so-called "Blue Zone,” by Luis Rosero-Bixby. In the "Blue Zone,” on the Nicoya Peninsular, he found a remarkable number of centenarians. Here, male life expectancy is the highest in the world. Their healthy lifestyle is one factor, but the promise of longevity is probably also because their telomeres - sections of DNA found at the end of chromosomes - are longer than those of the average person.

It’s a field of research currently being explored by Maria Blasco in Madrid. But this is just one of many possible factors influencing the process of aging. Senescent cells may also play a key role. Also known as "zombie cells”, these attack our body in old age and flood it with alarm signals until, at some point, we collapse under their weight. That’s a theory proposed by another researcher in Spain, Manuel Serrano.

A billion-dollar industry is already knocking impatiently at the lab doors. The first to market the miracle pill is guaranteed incredible wealth. That’s why investors are sponsoring young bio-startups in Hong Kong. Keen not be left out, US Big Tech is vying for the world’s best scientists. Alex Zhavoronkov has secured a slice of that pie, with a cash injection of more than 250 million dollars for his company’s work on aging research.

Whereas some pioneers’ visions burst like bubbles, others rush to get other, rather more dubious products onto the market. But their efficacy is now measurable. The epigenetic clock devised by Steve Horvath can measure our biological age, regardless of our actual age in years.

With his research on the thymus gland, California’s Greg Fahy managed to not only decelerate the aging process, but reverse it. His initial study on humans showed that a particular drug cocktail took an average two-and-a-half years off their age.

Young biohackers like Nina Khera from Boston want everyone to benefit from this research. Together with friends, she’s working on the "epigenetic clock for all”.
But while we’re busy trying to counter the aging process and all the illnesses it entails, fundamental questions arise: Should we be messing with nature like this? Are we about to overwhelm the planet with more and more people? Criminal biologist Mark Benecke in Cologne says that these questions are coming far too late.

Polycephaly is a condition wherein an animal is born with two heads. Some cultures think it as a
blessing, while others think it a curse. No matter what people think, one thing we can all agree on is that
creatures with this condition truly are weird. Today, we will be looking at 10 weird two headed animals.
Better make sure you stay until number one, that entry is adorableness times two.

Number 10. Squirt and Crush
There have been quite a few cases of turtles with two heads, but most of them ore of the small varieties.
It’s so much rarer to find these kinds of mutations on larger species, so when a baby loggerhead turtle
was discovered with two heads just a couple of months ago, the news stirred quite a buzz.
A sea turtle patrol on Hilton Island in South Carolina discovered an extremely rare two-headed
loggerhead hatchling, which was desperately trying to keep up with its brothers and sisters, who were
on their way to the sea. It was very alive and energetic, but it had a deformed shell, making movement
extremely difficult. The people who discovered the twins, whom they affectionately named Squirt and
Crush, say that this is an extremely rare finding in their area, with the last discovery happening 15 long
years ago.
Turtle hatchlings already have a very difficult time in the wild, wherein only 1 in 1000 are expected to
survive to adulthood. If this hatchling wasn’t discovered, its chances of survival in the wild are next to
none. It’s a good thing that the twins were discovered, this should at least give them a better chance at
survival.

Number 9. The Two Headed Cardinal
Birds are some of the rarest animals found with two heads. It must be because that any animal with this
mutation really have little to no chance of surviving out in the wild. So, when this bird was found in
Western Massachusetts, it was indeed quite a rare find. What makes this find even rarer, and
admittedly, weirder, is the fact that not only that this bird had two heads, it had two beaks as well.
April Britt from Northampton, noticed that Cardinals have been flying around her property. Finding this
strange, she went out to investigate what was happening. During her investigation, she spotted this tiny
bird on the lower branches in one of the trees. Although still young, it was quite clear that the bird was
already a couple of weeks old, which was covered in juvenile feathers.
The find even made it to the local news, and Britt was interviewed regarding her find. Unfortunately, the
bird is not expected to live that long. Experts say that due to its deformity, even flying was an impossible
feat.

Number 8. The First of its Kind
While two headed turtles and birds are quite common, relatively speaking, this next entry on our list
truly is the first of its kind.

Back in 2017, a Dutch fisherman fishing in the North Sea caught something truly weird in his nets. Along
with his catch of the day, he found a deformed animal, which was clearly just an infant. Unfortunately,
the creature was no longer alive when it was fished out of the ocean. Thinking it was illegal to keep such
an animal, he subsequently threw it back into the sea, but not before taking a few photos of it.
Upon examination of the photos, experts came to the conclusion that what the fisherman found was a
baby two headed harbor porpoise. According to Erwin Kompanje of the National Museum of History in
Rotterdam says that conjoined twins in whales and dolphins are extremely rare and he was only aware
of nine other published cases worldwide.
Number 7. Lucky the Calf
Lucky the Two Headed Calf was born at a farm in Kentucky owned by husband and wife Stan and Brandy
McCubbin. The couple said that in the seven years that they’ve been running the farm, they have never
encountered an animal quite like lucky.
Technically speaking, Lucky doesn’t have two heads, but rather have two faces; with two mouths, two
noses, and four eyes. Lucky. However, only seemed to have one brain, as when the McCubbins try to
feed one mouth, the other mouth moves in unison. This makes Lucky quite an even rarer case of
polycephaly.
A veterinary team from the University of Illinois grew interested in Lucky, and was interested to give her
an operation that would potentially prolong her life. The McCubbins were even able to raise $1200 for
the operation.

Charles Austin Beard was the most influential American historian of the early 20th century. He published hundreds of monographs, textbooks and interpretive studies in both history and political science. He graduated from DePauw University in 1898, where he met and eventually married Mary Ritter Beard, one of the founders of the first Greek-letter society for women, Kappa Alpha Theta. Many of his books were written in collaboration with his wife, whose own interests lay in feminism and the labor union movement (Woman as a Force in History, 1946).

In 1921, Charles and Mary Beard published their History of the United States. A contemporaneous review stated: "The authors... assume enough maturity in high school students to justify a topical rather than a chronological treatment. They have dealt with movements, have sketched large backgrounds, have traced causes, and have discussed the interrelation of social and economic forces and politics. All this has been directed to the large purpose of helping the student to understand American today in all its national characteristics and as part of world civilization as well...The literary style is exceptionally clear and crisp, and the whole approach...is thought producing. As a textbook or handbook for the average citizen it ranks with very best." (Summary by M.L. Cohen)

A&Z #1068 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus Pancheros' Massive Full Menu Mexican Food Challenge hosted by the Pancheros Mexican Grill location in downtown Iowa City, Iowa!! I finished up my dietetic internship on May 19th, 2022 and @Katina Eats Kilos and I knew we were leaving for Dublin, Ireland on June 7, 2022 to begin our international travel plans. Before leaving, we wanted to attempt 12 food challenges around 7 midwestern USA states. For event #3 of 12, we headed to downtown Iowa City, Iowa which is the home of the original Pancheros Mexican Grill first opened in 1992. Katina and I were the first 2 people to attempt and help kick off the new full menu Mexican food challenge at Pancheros Mexican Grill which was absolutely delicious!! I went first and had 1 full hour to feast on one of each item on the Pancheros menu, supersized, using one of their delicious protein options. I ordered a chicken burrito, a beef steak burrito bowl, a pork carnitas quesadilla, and a Tofusada salad. I also enjoyed 4 tacos, one of each of the 4 proteins. Last but not least, I had to finish an order of their famous blue corn tortilla chips with queso cheese sauce. I was trying to become the first person to win my full menu meal free plus a sweet gift box set of t-shirts and a spot on the downtown Iowa City location's Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to everyone with Pancheros Mexican Grill for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks to everyone from around the Iowa City area who came to watch and meet us that early afternoon. We appreciate everyone in Iowa City and around Iowa who watches videos and supports our efforts!! There are many more restaurant challenge videos upcoming!!

- Pancheros Mexican Grill is a chain of fast casual Tex-Mex restaurants in the United States serving Mexican-style cuisine. The chain was founded in 1992 by Rodney Anderson when he opened two units: one in Iowa City, Iowa, and one in East Lansing, Michigan. There are currently 72 units throughout the United States.
- This full menu food challenge was offered to Katina and me, and is not a public challenge available at all Pancheros locations.
- Pancheros offers burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas, and salads as part of their menu.
- Pancheros is known for using machine pressed flour tortillas made from scratch at each location.
- Pancheros offers 4 proteins for each option - chicken, beef steak, pork carnitas, and Tofusada.
- For this full menu challenge, I enjoyed a supersized chicken burrito, a massive steak burrito bowl, a pork carnitas quesadilla, and 4 delicious tacos, including one of each protein.
- There was a 1 hour time limit to finish everything, including an order of their famous blue corn tortilla chips with queso cheese plus some salsa and homemade guacamole.
- Winners earn the ~$80 meal free plus a sweet t-shirt box gift set and spot on the Wall of Fame.
